Pieces coming together for my tote bag. This is the scrap piece project I wrote about not too long ago. The dyed pieces have sumi ink on them.

Wood Shop
I am a member of the Station North Tool Library in Baltimore, Maryland. I try to attend their open shop days as much as I can. This is what I was working on in the shop today today.
The Horse and His Boy
When I was in elementary school I remember buying this version of The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis at the Scholastic Book Fair at Prettyboy Elementary School. I could never get through reading the book. This past January I decided to order the same printing of the entire Chronicles of Narnia series because I had not read any of them. I've gotten through both The Magicians Nephew ( the first book in the series) and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (the second in the series). I have just started reading The Horse and His Boy. It seems special to return to this book for me. Over the past two years I have been lucky enough to rediscover the importance of horses in my life. Artistically, I feel inclined to go back to things that inspired me in childhood. Thus, I've decided to explore folk, fairy, and surreal stories. I started by reading the first uncensored English translation of the Grimm brothers folk, fairy tales, The Original Folk and Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm: The Complete First edition. http://press.princeton.edu/titles/10300.html .
